Established in 1925, Croda uses Smart Science to Improve Lives™ by creating, making and selling speciality chemicals that are relied on by industries and consumers everywhere. With a long heritage of producing sustainable ingredients from natural resources, Croda creates innovative, sustainable ingredients and technologies used across a range of industries, including: Personal Care, Health Care, Crop Care, Seed Enhancement, Smart Materials, Energy Technologies, Home Care and water and Industrial Specialities.

Croda is the name behind high performance ingredients and technologies in some of the world’s biggest and most successful brands: through smart science they create, make and sell speciality chemicals that improve lives in societies and industries everywhere. They have over 4,500 employees across the world, with over 800 within the UK. This global workforce enables them to offer their apprentices the ability to network with colleagues across the world at the same time as taking advantage of the experience and breads of areas to work in that an established company can offer. Apprenticeships in Croda range for L2 to L7 and are used for new employees and for upskilling existing employees.

Labskin has pioneered an approach to testing skin care products by cloning a patient’s skin microbiome and transplant it onto the Labskin human skins equivalent. This allows a wide range of testing, that no longer requires invasive procedures on patients with the control of a laboratory environment. Data from Labskin is analysed  using next generation sequencing of the human cells and skin biome, then coupled with Artificial Intelligent processes to interpret and direct further development of skincare products in a controlled and efficient manner, reducing development time and cost.
